Fortune released their list of Top 500 companies overnight. The Top 10, ranked by their gross revenue are Wal-Mart Stores Inc, Exxon Mobil Corp, Chevron Corp, Phillips 66, Berkshire Hathaway Inc, Apple Inc, General Motors Co, General Electric Co, Valero Energy Corp and Ford Motor Co.
Excluding General Motors, because it’s not large enough to be part of the S&P 500, the Top 10 are dominated by energy stocks Phillip 66 (PSX), Valero Corporation (VLO), Chevron Corporation (CVX) and Exxon Mobil (XON).
Berkshire Hathaway is the most expensive.
General Electric Company currently offers the highest forecast dividend yield at 3.4% and looking over the next couple of years, Ford Motor Company is forecast to offer the highest per annum growth in intrinsic value.
A3-rated Valero Energy Corporation is currently trading on the lowest Price/Earnings Ratio. If you’re after the company with the least geared balance sheet, look no further than Apple Inc.
