The US initiated the process to deploy an advanced missile defense system, known as Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), in South Korea. The action followed North Korea’s test launch of four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, which was perceived as a threat to US naval bases in Japan. In view of the rising security threat following the series of missile and nuclear tests by North Korea, the US and South Korea mutually agreed to fast-track the deployment of the THAAD system. THAAD is an advanced defense missile, designed to destroy short- and medium-range ballistic missiles at a high altitude.

Just like most of us, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras must be looking forward to the New Year with new exuberance and optimism, as he seeks to bring the economy back on track. Greece is still struggling to recover from a decade-long debt crisis as it still heavily depends on its Eurozone creditors. The year 2017 is touted as a very crucial phase for Greece’s economy, especially after the strong fiscal discipline shown by the government (amid tumbling popularity due to austerity measures) in the most part of 2016.

The results Adairs presented in August showed a business that is performing strongly. Same store sales revenue increased by 12% plus there were an additional 13 stores opened. After tax profits increased by 19%. Revenues and profits were well above what was forecast in the prospectus.

FlexiGroup’s established operations have for the best part been performing well, and good growth has been achieved by recent acquisitions. The vertically integrated model is working well for FXL, leaving it well positioned to meet its goal of being a digital finance leader.
When markets are turbulent, outperforming guidance is sometimes required to maintain share price equilibrium. Consequently, FlexiGroup will be a stock to watch closely when it opens this morning.
