Waiting patiently to buy exceptional companies at bargain prices can test even hardened value investors. Breville Group (BRG) is a good example. The kitchen appliances supplier has a cherished A1 Skaffold Score, but was too expensive for much of 2012. Finally, Breville is back on value radars. But did the market badly overreact to Breville’s profit, which still showed solid revenue and earnings growth and a higher return on equity (ROE) in the half? Or is the impressive Breville entering a period of slower growth than the market has been used to the past four years? The number of A1-rated stocks in Skaffold has risen, following the release of ARB Corporation’s (ARP) interim report, and full year results from software and programming company Iress Ltd (IRE). Woodside, BigAir Group, Alliance Aviation Services, Calibre Group, SMS Management & Technology and Toll Holdings now updated in Skaffold.
